Lu 'an Qingsong Color Masterbatch Co., LTD. Plastic Blown Film Color Masterbatch: The coloring assistant for blown film processing!

Plastic Blown Film Color Masterbatch is a coloring material specially designed for the plastic blown film process. By evenly dispersing pigments in the carrier resin, it provides stable colors for blown films and is widely used in plastic film production. Its performance needs to be compatible with the characteristics of the blown film process to ensure the appearance quality and application performance of the film.

In terms of composition, plastic blown film masterbatch mainly consists of pigments, carrier resins and additives. The selection of pigments should take into account the blown film temperature and the application of the film. Generally, varieties with good heat resistance and migration resistance are chosen to avoid decomposition during high-temperature processing or color migration during later use. The carrier resin needs to have good compatibility with the plastic raw materials to be colored. For example, polyethylene resin is often used as the carrier for polyethylene blown film to ensure that the color masterbatch can be evenly integrated with the base material. Additives include dispersants, lubricants, etc. Dispersants help pigments disperse evenly in the carrier, while lubricants improve the processing fluidity of color masterbatches and facilitate their mixing with the substrate.

The production process of plastic blown film masterbatch is rigorous. First, the pigments, carrier resins and additives are mixed in proportion. After being initially dispersed by high-speed stirring, they enter the melt mixing equipment. Under the action of mechanical shearing and high temperature, the pigment is refined and uniformly dispersed into the carrier resin, forming a molten mixture. Subsequently, after cooling and granulation, it is made into granular color masterbatches. During the production process, it is necessary to control the mixing temperature and shear strength well to ensure that the pigment is fully dispersed and avoid particle agglomeration which may affect the coloring effect.

Compatibility with the blown film process is a key characteristic of plastic blown film masterbatch. In the blown film process, the plastic melt needs to go through extrusion, expansion, cooling and other steps. The color masterbatch must have good fluidity to match the fluidity of the base material melt, so as to avoid uneven film thickness or crystal points caused by flow differences. Meanwhile, the color masterbatch needs to withstand the temperature during blown film processing, not decompose or produce gas within the range of 150-250℃, and prevent the film from having bubbles or pinholes.

Uniformity of coloring is an important property of Plastic Blown Film Color Masterbatch. High-quality color masterbatches can ensure that pigments are evenly distributed in the film without obvious color spots or stripes, guaranteeing a consistent appearance of the film. Its tinting strength should be moderate. Adding too much will increase the cost and may affect the mechanical properties of the film, while adding too little will result in a light color. The ideal tinting effect needs to be achieved by adjusting the addition ratio.

In terms of usage, plastic blown film masterbatch is usually mixed with plastic raw materials in a certain proportion and then fed into the blown film machine. The uniformity of mixing directly affects the coloring effect, so it is necessary to ensure that the color masterbatch is fully mixed with the raw materials. During the processing, the amount of color masterbatch added needs to be adjusted according to parameters such as film thickness and blow-up ratio to meet the coloring requirements of films of different specifications.

When using plastic blown film masterbatch, attention should be paid to the storage conditions to avoid moisture and caking, which may affect the dispersibility. Different types of plastic blown films require the selection of corresponding color masterbatches. For instance, the carrier resins of the color masterbatches used in polypropylene blown film and polyethylene blown film are different and cannot be mixed. In addition, the proportion of color masterbatch addition needs to be determined through experiments, taking into account both the coloring effect and the performance of the film, to avoid a decrease in the tensile strength of the film or a deterioration in tear resistance due to improper proportion.

With the expansion of the application scenarios of plastic films, plastic blown film masterbatches are also developing in a functional direction. Some products combine anti-ultraviolet and antibacterial properties, enhancing the additional functions of the film while coloring. Its performance is continuously optimized to meet the production demands of high-end blown film products such as thinner and higher transparency, providing support for the diversified development of plastic films.
